BARBARA MICHAELSEN is a dancer and cultural Manager specializing in African dances, trained in the Republic of Guinea by great masters:

Yamoussa Soumah (Master-Choreographer of Ballet Djoliba and Ballet Merveille de Guinée), Sorel Konte (Master-Choreographer of Ballet Wassasso and Ballet Africaine), Fatou Abou Camara (Master Choreographer and Artistic Director of Guinée Percussion - Wofa Percussion - Fatou Abou Percussion), Mamastata Camara "Teté" (great dancer from Ballet Djoliba) among many others like Alhassane Bangoura (Ballet Wassasso), Seny Bangoura (Ballet Africaine), Rokia Sano (Ballet Merveille de Guinee), Aboubacar Camara (Ballet Merveille de Guinee), Bountou Kouyate (Ballet Merveille de Guinée), Nato Soumah (Ballet Saamato), Nata Camara (Ballet Sourakhata).

She studied ethnic and traditional country dances, contemporary African Ballet dances. She studied artistic direction and performance of African shows with the Master Fatou Abou Camara. She has traveled in different countries (Chile, Argentina, Colombia, France, Spain, Italy, Guinea and Germany) transmitting this art and her passion for dance in festivals, concerts, workshops & more. Works in ethnographic research.

 

She has participated in creative projects of fusion of styles Afro Mandingue and Hip hop. She founded the International School "Africa Mandingue", is choreographer of the African group "Africa Mandingue de Guinée" in France, producer of the Africa Mande Festival in Latin America (Chile and Argentina). Graduated in the Chilean federation of Music therapy and corporal therapies.
